I’m super excited to introduce a new blog series: Crunches and Brunches. Working out and brunching are two of my favorite activities, and I love finding new spots in Chicago and around the world. I’ll be profiling a brunch locale and workout studio every week – come workout or mimosa with me!
I recently had the pleasure of attending a blogger brunch at DL Lofts, with treats from Doodles Doughnuts, La Fournette bakery, and a mimosa bar from Tastings.com. I’ll be the first to admit I’m in need of some wine education, so I loved chatting with the ladies from Tastings about juice and bubbly pairings.
Between the gorgeous, airy loft space and the French pastry, I nearly forgot I was in Chicago. While DL Loft might not be your traditional brunch spot, it’s the perfect venue for a party, photo shoot, or staycation.
After that carb + sugar fest (so worth it), I was in need of an incredible power yoga class. I ventured to Yoga Six Gold Coast and, after seeing the studio, signed up for a membership on the spot.
Yoga Six has three yoga rooms, all of which feature shock-absorbent flooring. While this messed with my balance a little (I’m used to hardwood floors!), it felt awesome – and I could use a little balance challenge. I was getting too comfortable in tree pose, anyway.
Forgot your water bottle, yoga mat, towel, hair tie, or after class snack? No worries, Yoga Six has you covered. You can purchase or rent many items, plus the locker rooms are fulling stocked with all the amenities you need for before and after class.
Yoga Six offers a variety of classes, including a gentle stretch class, 75-minute vinyasa, hot yoga, power yoga, and more. They also seem to really care about their members, hosting lots of fun events, theme classes, and workshops. In every class I’ve attended, the teacher has walked up to me to introduce her/himself with a smile.
