You already know where to find your spring style essentials, but let’s talk spring dresses for a minute. After wrapping my legs in approximately ten layers of fabric all winter, I’m ready for breezy style. Even if you aren’t a “girly girl” type, there are some pin-baring options for you here, too!
This is the first post in the brand-spanking-new series called Where to Wear – because clothes are only as fun as the experiences you have in them. I’ll be sharing my favorite Chicago events and locations, plus destinations around the world.
Azalea Dress // Revolve
Where to Wear: Matching your dress to your drink is the new thing, if you didn’t know. Grab a glass of rosé (I’m a fan of the brand new Rock Angel from Chateau d’Esclans) at your fanciest upcoming wedding, or preferably the nearest yacht.
Style tip: Pair with a barely-there sandal and minimal jewelry to let the dress (and you) shine.
Chambray Dress // J. Crew
Where to Wear: Farmer’s market season is upon us. Check out your local listings (here you go, Chicago) and peruse the Instagram-worthy towers of fresh goodies while looking Instagram-worthy yourself.
Style tip: Add white Converse for cool-girl style that lets you walk miles, or dress it up a little with a belt and ankle boots.
Change of Thought Wrap Dress // Revolve
Where to Wear: No one follows the white after Labor Day rule anymore, but the kick-off of summer is still monumental. Grab a rooftop cocktail at Cindy’s to enjoy gorgeous views of Chicago and celebrate the start of the city’s best season.
Style tip: Layer your jewelry to really make an impact.
White Daisy Dress // RED Valentino
Where to Wear: Ah, wedding season. As your calendar fills up with bridal showers, weddings, and bachelorette parties, you’re going to need a lot of dresses. Celebrate your favorite bride by rocking this dress to her bridal shower.
Style tip: Have a lot of events and don’t want to drop $$? This dress is available from Rent the Runway!
Savannah Button Down Dress // Revolve
Where to Wear: When last night’s antics make getting dressed feel impossible, throw on this little number. Cute, comortable, and a little grunge – perfect for killer food and a some hair of the dog at a place like Kuma’s.
Style tip: Rock the bedhead with abandon – this dress makes it look like intentional, model off duty style.
Lover of Mine Plunging Mini Dress // Revolve
Style tip: Add a bright clutch (as shown) to make this pastel dress work all the way through summer
Inga Abstract Maxi // BCBGMAXAZRIA
Style tip: This bright maxi dress doesn’t need much embellishment. Wear shoes you can kick off, just in case you can find a beach to walk along.
Go ahead – grab one (or three) of these spring dresses, then go explore your city or find a new one to visit!
