Travel Fashion: Styling the Graphic Tee

When suitcase (or backpack) space is limited, it’s important that every item you pack is versatile. One of my favorite pieces to take on any trip is a graphic tee.  We all know you can wear a tee shirt with basic leggings or denim, but there are SO MANY other options for wearing this comfy top while on the road. I’ve got some ideas that can help you put some outfits together, and to identify some pieces missing in your wardrobe that can take your graphic t-shirt style to the next level.

Graphic Tee + Fancy Skirt

Step one: find a skirt that would make Mariah Carey proud. Step two: tuck in your graphic tee, blousing the bottom a little. Step three: Add some killer heels!

Graphic Tee + Leather Skirt

Throw this on with some pointed toe pumps for a chic dinner look. Tucked in or left out, a leather skirt adds some street style to a basic piece like a graphic tee. Faux is way more affordable and friendlier to animals, FYI.

Graphic Tee + Boyfriend Jean

I love a good distressed boyfriend jean. Make sure to tight-roll those jeans, yes I said tight-roll like the 80’s (roll them high enough so they almost look like a capri skinny jean), and put on some baller heals with this look. Preferably a pump or one with an ankle strap and you could also add a blazer to complete this look.

Graphic Tee + Dressy Shorts

Unless you’re doing some legit backpacking, it’s okay to put away the denim shorts for your travels. Try shorts with some volume, texture, or pattern to add some visual interest to your tee! I like to finish the look wth a wedge or strappy sandal to dress up the classic t-shirt + shorts combo.

Don’t limit yourself to denim with your tees –  include some of these pieces on your packing list for versatile style on the road!

**Disclaimer: please do not wear a band tee if you do not actually listen to that band. It’s weird.
